1/29/19 - Bowling @ Eastgate vs Williamsburg
The Blanchester Wildcat bowling squads hosted the Williamsburg Wildcats Tuesday evening. Both Williamsburg’s boys and girls teams finished ahead of Blanchester’s. The final score for the girls was Williamsburg 1888-1283. For Blanchester, Aleah wells and Kelli Hoffman led their team with a two-game series of 234 and 230 total pins respectively. For the boys, the final score was Williamsburg 2077-1939. This was an improvement for Blanchester since their last meeting with Williamsburg cutting the differential by over 80 pins. Top bowler for Blanchester was Josh Allen with a two-game series of 365 and a single game high of 208 pins. Blanchester will now look to the SBAAC league tournament on Saturday. The Blanchester boys are currently 5-7 in the National division and the girls are 6-6.

The Blanchester Wildcat bowling squads traveled to Georgetown Community Lanes Tuesday evening to take on the Bethel-Tate Tigers. The Ladycats were back and forth with the Tigers changing the lead, however, in the end the Tigers were ahead 1579-1537. Both Morgan Oberle and Bri Haun each had two-game totals of 280 pins for the Ladycats. The Ladycats are now 6-3 in the National Division. Blanchester’s boys squad held a big lead throughout the night besting the Tigers 2005-1727. Although everyone bowled well to push the Wildcats to their personal high team score in league play, Derick Bowman stepped up big with a single game score of 242. This win brings the Wildcats to a 5-4 record. Both Blanchester squads will travel to take on the Williamsburg Wildcats next Monday at Batavia Lanes.

The Blanchester Wildcat bowling squads were back in action and hosted the Felicity-Franklin Cardinals Monday evening at Eastgate Lanes. Blanchester’s boys squad was unable to take a lead in the match and ended up falling short by 42 pins in a very close 1877-1835 finish. Orin Potts lead the Wildcats with a two game pin count of 374, followed closely behind by Josh Allen with a total of 328. As for the Ladycats, they were able to topple the Lady Cardinals by almost 240 pins with a 1489-1250 final. The top two game totals for the Ladycats were earned by Aleah Wells with 265 and Bri Haun with 239. The Wildcats travel to Georgetown Community Lanes on Tuesday to take on the Tigers of Bethel-Tate.

The Blanchester Wildcat bowling squads competed against the Goshen Warriors Wednesday evening at Eastgate Lanes. Experience was on the Warriors side as they jumped out in front and maintained the lead in pin count on the boy’s end. For the Wildcats, Derick Bowman had a season high game of 193 and series total of 340 while Josh Allen was back to his consistent self with a series total of 361 leading the Wildcats in total individual pins. The final count was 2324-1959, Warriors. The story was different for the Ladycats who were able to defeat the Warriors 1390-1105. Despite being at a player disadvantage, the Goshen girls bowled a great match. Aleah Wells led the Ladycats in total pins with 236 and once again dominated the tenth frame of all three Baker’s matches. The duo of Kelli Hoffman and Sally Schafer both added 216 each. The Wildcats will face-off with Goshen again in the new year on January 3rd.

The Blanchester Wildcats bowling squads hosted the East Clinton Astros Thursday night at Eastgate lanes. This is the second time these teams have competed against each other this season. Both Blanchester squads came out with a win. The Ladycats narrowly defeated the Astros by 47 pens. Going into the final two frames it could’ve gone either way but Bri Haun spared the ninth to set up Aleah Wells who solidified the victory by nailing back to back strikes in the tenth. East Clinton failed to pick up the 10th frame. The final pin count was 1507-1460, Ladycats. Top performer for the Ladycats was Sally Schafer with a two game score of 285. On the boys side, the Wildcats remained in a comfortable lead after the first two rounds of regular matches and won two out of three of the Baker’s rounds to win it. The top game for the Wildcats came from Bryan Brewer who scored a season high 201 in his second game. The final pin count was 1942-1661, Wildcats. Both the Ladycats and Wildcats are now 3-3 on their inaugural season and will have a week off before their next match on December 17th against Georgetown.

Leading for the Ladycats was Sally Schafer with a two game score of 266. On the boys side, The Rockets also defeated the Wildcats 2008-1750. Josh Allen led the Wildcats with a pin count of 316 after two games. These losses put both Blanchester squads at 2-3 on the season. They will host East Clinton on Thursday at Eastgate Lanes.

The Blanchester Wildcats bowling squads were both defeated Tuesday by a very talented Western Brown team at Georgetown Community Lanes. Both Blanchester teams set best overall team scores but came up short. The Ladycats finished 1725-1829 and the Wildcats 2127-2558 to the Broncos. Personal match bests were set by Kelli Hoffman (114), Aleah Wells (159), Sally Schafer (162), Bryan Brewer (176), and Josh Allen (225). This loss puts the Ladycats at 1-2 and the Wildcats at 2-1 early in season play. -Coach Ballinger

For the Lady Cats, Brianna Haun set a new personal high with 168 and a two game total of 327. Morgan Oberle also contributed 268 pins to the teams individual totals. The Lady Cats finished with 1476 pins to Bethel’s 1392. Striking hard for Blanchester men’s team was Josh Allen with 176 and a two game total of 326. Orin Potts was close behind with 296 pins overall. In the Baker’s rounds, the men worked together impressively to increase their pin count by over 500 more than the Tigers. The final was 2024 to 1501. The men improve to 2-0 and the women 1-1 on their inaugural seasons.
