“We told them at halftime that we just needed to calm down and hit the easy shots that we were getting and once they did it forced West Union to change its defense,” said BHS coach Andy Hamm.
The coach said Hosler’s defense on Natasha Barr of West Union was integral to the win.
“Ana followed her the entire night and our defense did a great job of protecting the rim when Ana did need help,” said Hamm.

We got down 3-0 pretty early but they never let it bother them. We did a good job of rebounding the ball with Sarah and Cierra and our guards did a great job of looking down the floor. We got a lot of transition buckets throughout the game, and Sydney did a great job of getting the ball down the floor. She threw some incredible passes that led to layups. We did a good job in the 2nd half of making sure they didn't make a run. I thought Cierra played very aggressive throughout, and Sydney did a great job of setting up our offense. - Coach Hamm

Ladycats dominate Astros 51- East Clinton 33
The key to the game was our defense. Our starters only gave up 6 points in the 1st and 3rd quarters and it set the tone for the game. Hannah Sydney and Ana did a tremendous job of pressuring the ball and Sarah cierra and Emma did a great job of protecting the rim on help side. We got in foul trouble and Sarah cane out in the 2nd with an injury and Ec did a good job of creating a little run. Playing great defense lately and we will need to continue that going into league play this week. - Coach Hamm

"Lynchburg might be the 2nd or 3rd best team we play all year long and I thought we played a great ball game tonight. We have preached a lot lately that our defense is good enough to play with anyone. We came out tonight and Sarah Burton hit a couple big shots early to get our confidence up and we used that energy on defense. LC is 9-4 with a very tough schedule and we held them to 5 in the 2nd quarter. I thought the keys to the game were Sydney's ability to break the press by getting the ball to Hannah, and Hannah doing a good job of attacking the basket. Each girl came up big in certain spots but I thought the trio of Hannah, Sarah, and Sydney really got after it. Sarah filled up the stat sheet and Syd and Hannah did a good job of getting the ball down the floor." - Coach Hamm
