10/17/18 - BMS football @ Goshen
The 7th grade Wildcats faced a tough Goshen Warrior team on Wednesday. It was an exciting game to watch. It was also one of the hardest hitting games of the season. The 7th grade Wildcats were set on making a point. They wanted to prove who the King of the Road really was, and they did just that with a 28-14 win. With a dominating running game, the young Wildcats controlled the game on offense. Chase Barnes had his best game of the year with 172 rushing yards. Bryce Sipple backed him up with 31 rushing yards and a TD. With the rushing game in full force, the Wildcats had just 41 passing yards. All in all a great game from start to finish. Defensively, the Wildcats allowed Goshen to pull within 6 late in the second half, but to no avail. But pushed back to regain the momentum. The play of the game came on a late 4th and long when a 24yd Sipple to Hamm pass sealed the deal. “This is an exciting group of young men to watch and coach. They exemplify what it means to play together as a team. When we work together, we win together. We as coaches expect great things from this group next year.” Coach Peters
Individual stats:
QB Sipple 3/41
RB Barnes 14 carries 172 yds 2 TD’s
Sipple 9 carries 31 yds TD 2 2pt conversions
Perkins 1 carry for 9 yds TD
WR Bill Hamm 1 catch 24 yds
Chase Barnes 2 catches 40 yds
The 7th grade Wildcats finish with a record of 6-1! Great job Wildcats!
In their last game as 8th graders, the resilient Wildcats came up short against a tough Goshen defense 22-7. We looked forward to this game with high expectations, but turnovers proved to be our undoing. It’s hard to watch your players struggle. However, sometimes life can be a struggle. We, as coaches, could not be more proud of this group of young men. The important thing about this group is the way they face adversity. They continually show themselves the mental toughness that it takes to keep getting up. “It’s a sobering moment to watch a group of kids come off the field realizing that this was the last game as a middle school player and that the next time they put on pads will be in high school. We are blessed to be able to have been a part of their football experience and will be looking for good things from them in the years to come.” Coach Peters We also want to say a special thanks to all the cheerleaders. Many of them have been with this team since they were 5 and 6 years old. They always do a great job and are very talented. Keep up the good work ladies! The Wildcats finish the season with a 3-4-1 record. Keep your head up Cats we’re proud of you!

10/10/18 - BMS football HOME vs. New Richmond
The 7th grade Wildcats got back on the winning side of things with an impressive 38-0 win over New Richmond. With close to 300 yds of total offense the Wildcats couldn’t be stopped. QB Bryce Sipple threw for 118 yds and 2 TD’s. RB Chase Barnes ran for 121 yds and 2 TD’s. WR’s Ray Montgomery and Bill Hamm each had a receiving TD. It was a fun game to watch and coach. These kids continue to show their skill on the field. With the King of the Road matchup coming up against Goshen, these young Wildcats will look to finish strong and finish the season with a 6-1 record.
“We are very proud of the determination of these kids. They will continue to get better and continue to dominate on the field. Next week should be a good test to see how far they have come.” Coach Peters
Individual stats:
QB Sipple 3/118 2 TD’s, 9 carries 25 yds rushing 3 2pt conversions
RB Barnes 10 carries 121 yds 2 TD’s 1 2pt conversion
WR Bill Hamm 1 catch 44 yds TD
Ray Montgomery 1 catch 67 yds TD
The 8th grade Wildcats faced the toughest challenge of their season falling to New Richmond 41-0. We knew going in New Richmond was going to be tough. The Wildcats had trouble getting started on both sides of the ball. Offensively the Wildcats were held to less than 100 yds of total offense. And defensively the young Wildcats were just simply overmatched. For the second week in a row they had to deal with an injured teammate. Last week it was Andrew Haggerty, this week Carson Curless. “This is an emotional game on many different levels. When you watch a teammate go down with an injury it can change the team as a whole. However, it can also pull them together. This team has dealt with many ups and downs in their football experience, and they continually show their strength and character. We, as coaches, are very proud of them” Coach Peters.
The Wildcats look to close out their Middle School experience with a King of the Road win next week at Goshen.

RB Tyler Bussell 4 carries for 13 yds
Chase Barnes 1 carry for 15 yards

10/3/18 - BMS 8th gr Football @ Bethel Tate
Wilcats Win 27-26
In what proved to be the most exciting game of the year, the 8th grade Wildcats withstood the storm and upset the Bethel Tigers. Complete TEAM effort! That’s the best way to describe this game. The Wildcats were down 14-0 in the first quarter but rallied to a 14-14 tie at the half. The Wildcats took possession to start the second half and eventually took a 2 TD lead 27-14. But, Bethel never stopped coming at the cats. With a little over 5 minutes in the game Bethel scored 2 TD’s to draw within 1.
Ultimately it came down to the last 2 point try by Bethel. With no time on the clock and the game on the line Bethel tried a run up the middle but the Wildcats were ready and stopped the Tigers in the back field. “I’ve coached a lot of games and this one ranks up there as one of the most exciting. To be down early and to come back the way this team did is just another example of how much they’ve grown as a unit. I’m extremely proud of way they finished. Many teams would be defeated in their own mind after the last TD Bethel scored, but not these guys. They proved to themselves once again that they can withstand the storm.”- Coach Peters. Great job Wildcats!
Individual stats:
QB Zach West 4/9 89 yards passing 2 TD’s 3 PAT’s
Ty Goodwin 2/2 37 yards passing

Ty Goodwin 3 carries for 12 yards
WR Dustin trace 2 catches for 75 yards 1 TD
Dylan Creager 2 catches for 37 yards 1 TD
Chase Barnes 1 catch for 10 yards
The Wildcats improve to 3-2-1. Next game is Home against New Richmond next Wednesday.

10/1/18 - BMS 7th Grade Football @ Mariemont
The 7th grade Wildcats came into Monday’s game without their starting QB but that didn’t stop them from putting up 28 points and owning the ground game with 369 combined yards. Tyler Bussell led all RB’s with 187 yds and 2 TD’s, while Chase Barnes was right behind him with 157 yards and 2 TD’s. Unfortunately, the game came down to the 2pt conversions and key turnovers. The game was exciting all the way down to the final few seconds and we simply didn’t execute when we needed to. The tough loss ended in a 30-28 defeat.
The best thing we can do at this point is prepare for the next one. Defensively the Wildcats gave up too many passing yards. The Mariemont QB just made good throws. Sometimes even the best coverage can be beat. We will take what we’ve learned and use it to prepare for the New Richmond Lions. “We are very proud of these kids and the heart they show on the field. They never give up and they are learning to believe in each other.” Coach Peters.
Individual stats:
Chase Barnes 16 carries for 157 yds 2 TD, 1 2pt
Tyler Bussell 8 carries for 187 yds 2 TD’s, 1 2pt
The Wildcats fall to 4-1. Next game is Home against New Richmond next Wednesday.

9/26/18 - BMS football HOME vs. Batavia
The rushing attack was the name of the game for the 7th grade Wildcats. On a day that field conditionswere a bit slippery RB Chase Barnes and the Wildcat offense made it a control the clock type of game.Barnes rushed for 97 yds and a TD. Ray Montgomery also added 31 yds and a TD as the Wildcats defeated the Batavia Bulldogs 20-0. Defensively the Wildcats controlled the game from start to finish. The play of the game came late in the 2nd half when DT Charlie Pell beat his blocker on a 4th down to block the Batavia punt and then capped it off by picking up the blocked punt and returned it to the endzone for a defensive TD. To say we are proud of these kids is an understatement. They are truly tough competitors. The 7th grade Wildcats have a short week as they prepare to play Mariemont on Monday.
The 7th grade Wildcats remain unbeaten at 4-0.
Individual stats:
QB Sky Smith - 23 yds passing
RB Chase Barnes 18 carries for 97 yds 1 TD, 1 2pt
Ray Montgomery 3 carries 31 yds 1 TD
WR Quentin Rice 23 yds receiving
The 8th grade Wildcats played one of the best defensive games to date. The Batavia Bulldogs reached the endzone only one time Wednesday night to score the games only points, but it proved to be enough as the Wildcats lost a hard fought battle 6-0. Turnovers in key situations proved to be our undoing. This will be our focus in practice this week, ball security. Over all the Wildcats played a great game.
“Mistakes are going to happen. The question is what do we learn from them? These young men are realizing their full potential on the field. They are developing as a unit and it makes us proud as coaches to see it. Life isn’t always about how hard you get hit, but rather how hard you get hit and still get back up.” Coach Peters
Up next for these Wildcats will be Bethel next Wednesday.
Individual Stats:
QB Zach West 66 yards passing
RB Tyler Bussell 10 carries for 49 yards
WR Ty Goodwin 2 catches for 45 yards.

9/19/18 - BMS Football @ East Clinton
Zach West and Bryce Sipple combined for 120 yds passing and 2 TD’s as the Blanchester Wildcats once again crushed the competition with an impressive win over the East Clinton Astros 39-6. Turnovers bit us early with a fumble and an INT. But that couldn’t keep the potent Wildcat offense down. The Wildcats took a 13-6 lead into the half made a few adjustments and came out and finished strong. It’s rare to have one RB with over 100 yds rushing. Today we had 2. Tyler Bussell had a fantastic game with 127 yds rushing and 3 TD’s. He really took control of the game for us and put it out of reach. RB Chase Barnes finished with 124 yds rushing as well and capped off another great win for these Wildcats. The O line once again showed that working together will produce positive results. Without them none of this happens. Great work all around!
One big play, that’s all it took for the Wildcat defense to completely take over the game. Early in the 1st quarter we gave up one big play for 60 yds. From that point on the Wildcat defense allowed less than 100 yds of total offense for the rest of the game. “I’m extremely proud of the way this Defense, and this team as a whole, stepped up and took care of business. These young men continue to prove some things to not only to the other teams and the fans watching, but also to themselves. They are changing the culture with an attitude of expecting to win.” Coach Peters

9/13/18 - 7th Gr BMS football @ Fayetteville
QB Bryce Sipple threw for 59 yds and 1 touchdown as the 7th grade Wildcats finished the day with a dominating win over the Fayetteville Rockets 28-8. We started off a little un-wildcat like, turning the ball over 3 times but later regrouped and finished strong. The 2nd half was the real bright spot on both sides of the ball. Chase Barnes led the ground attack with 110 yds of punishing offense and the Defense was just too much for the Rockets. Overall it was a great game with many positives. We will be working on a few things to get ready for East Clinton next week. Great job!
Defensively the Wildcats gave up a few big plays but really controlled the game for us. The defense was relentless and closed the game with a Dustin Trace pick 6.

9/6/18 - 8th grade Football HOME vs. Western Brown
QB Zach West threw for 182 yds and 1 touchdown as the 8th grade Wildcats finished the day with a disappointing loss to Western Brown 63-13. Although the score seems lopsided if we take away a few big plays then we’re right back in it. The brightest spot was the offensive line. This is where we’ve grown the most. They are solid kids and give
Zach all the time he needs. Great job!
Defensively the Wildcats gave up too many big plays. This is what we will be working on for the next 2 weeks to get ready for East Clinton.
Individual stats:
QB West- 189yds passing 1 TD, 3 INT’s
RB Tyler Bussell 8 carries for 68 yds. Dustin Trace 1 carry for 19 yds 1 TD
