Comments: We finally dug ourselves a whole we weren't able to dig out of. Credit goes to East Clinton. They played really well. If you keep getting yourself into trouble in a match, eventually the other team is going to be good enough to put you away, and that's what happened here.
I thought Lydia played her best match of the year. She's learned some lessons the hard way with the coaches classic and New Richmond, but she put some of those to use in this match. Second doubles was sharp and efficient in victory.

Grace and Lydia have played well together in limited time, and for them to beat a pair of seniors was impressive. Erin did a great job battling back after a tough second set. Kayla played a great match at third which came down to just a handful of points.
We're starting to play the way I thought we would play from the beginning of the season. Now that people are settling into roles, I think our best tennis is still to come. We're going to need it as we go through the division again starting Tuesday at Felicity. -Coach Sexton

Comments: I knew this was going to be quite the battle and it did not disappoint. Our first doubles team really has played two mentally strong matches in a row, and it won them this match. They found a way when EC pushed back after the first set to steady themselves. That was a very entertaining match. -Coach Sexton

Comments: I thought we played very well against a good team all down the lineup. Western Brown returns four of their top five from a year ago, so I knew they'd be a strong test to open the year. I think we learned quite a bit at each position and we competed well. That's all I can ask.
Second doubles played very well. They're going to have an outstanding year, and they're only sophomores.
I was incredibly proud of Lydia. She played a girl that played second singles last year, and hung right with her. She has come so far, and is only going to continue to improve.
Overall, we got exactly what I wanted out of the match. It would have been nice to win, of course, but the objective of a strong test to open the year was obtained.
