The Blanchester Wildcats wrapped up their season Saturday night with a 9-1 loss to Seven Hills in the second round of tournament play. Scoring for the Wildcats was senior Topher Farrow. Keeper Jake Fischer had 16 saves while being on guard most the match. Overall, the young Blanchester squad finished 8-8-1. -Coach Ballinger

10/17/17 - Boys Soccer @ Georgetown for the Sectional Tournament
OVERTIME WINNERS!!!
The Blanchester Wildcats traveled to Georgetown Tuesday evening for a third matchup on the pitch this season against the G-Men. Georgetown had won the previous two during the regular season but they couldn't hold back the will and determination of the Wildcats during the first round of tournament play. The Wildcats scored at the end of the first half giving themselves the lead and carried that momentum into the second half and putting in a second goal. It looked to be all but won until Georgetown answered back with ten minutes remaining in regulation and followed it up with a second goal of their own. Both squads were clearly giving it their best in overtime but Blanchester proved victorious with a score of 3-2 finishing with a golden goal. All three wildcat goals were netted by freshman Carter Stevens. Assists on the night went to Hunter Hartmann, Cameron Gibson, and Topher Farrow. Keeper Jacob Fischer played his best game of the year and made 14 saves to keep Blanchester in the lead for the better half of the game. The Blanchester Wildcats failed to maintain their lone goal lead against the Williamsburg Wildcats Thursday night allowing a goal against with only two minutes remaining in the match. Scoring for Blanchester was Nevan Coyle who was assisted by Topher Farrow. Blanchester took over 30 shots but couldn't break through more than once. This tie puts Blanchester at 7-7-1 on the season. -Coach Ballinger

10/5/17 - Boys soccer @ Fayetteville
The Blanchester Wildcats lost to an evenly matched Fayettteville Rockets Thursday night on the road. The Rockets got off to an early lead and was too much for the Wildcats to come back from. With mistakes in the backfield in the first half, Blanchester gave the Rockets a 3-0 head start. Both teams scored three each in the second half and Blanchester definitely had the momentum during the final moments. Scoring tonight for the Wildcats were Nevan Coyle with 2 goals and Colton Wilson. The only assist on the evening went to Coyle. Keeper Jacob Fischer had 5 saves. -Coach Ballinger

10/3/17 - Boys Soccer HOME vs. Bethel Tate (Senior Night)
The Blanchester Wildcats hosted Bethel-Tate Tuesday evening for their last home game of the regular season. Blanchester played tough for the majority of the first half but as soon as Bethel claimed their first goal the rest started to trickle in. After eighty minutes Bethel came out on top 8-0. Despite the outcome of the match, Blanchester celebrated the success of their senior class who have 37 wins under their belt which is the most in a four year span in the Blanchester Men's Soccer program. They still have two regular season games left in hopes to add to that value. Their overall record is 37-19-6. Noah Armocida, Brant Bandow, Nevan Coyle, Topher Farrow, and Jacob Fischer were recognized for their dedication to the program. -Coach Ballinger

The Blanchester Wildcats couldn't recover from a quick deficit Thursday evening, losing 5-1 to the Goshen Warriors. Blanchester allowed 3 goals early in the match and couldn't mentally get back in the game. The score at half would eventually become the final with Blanchester's lone goal coming from Nevan Coyle. Keeper Jake Fischer had ten saves on the evening. The Wildcats will host Bethel-Tate on Thursday for their final home game of the season. -Coach Ballinger

The Blanchester Wildcats defeated a much improved CNE Rockets Tuesday night at Barbour Memorial Field with a score of 4-2. The match started off with a rocket goal in the opening minutes and Blanchester did not answer back until five minutes remained in the half. After halftime the Wildcats regained composure and put in three more goals for a comfortable lead. CNE also scored and possessed the ball heavily towards the end of the half with more opportunities to find the back of the net. The Blanchester Wildcats bested the Cardinals of Felicity 9-0 Thursday evening at Barbour Memorial Field. Scoring for the Wildcats were Nevan Coyle (4), Topher Farrow (2), Noah Armocida, Cameron Skidmore, and Jasper Damewood. Goals for both Skidmore and Damewood were career firsts. Assists were awarded to Brant Bandow, Cameron Gibson, Carter Stevens, Armocida, and Farrow. Keeper Jake Fischer also earned his second shut-out of the season with 9 saves. Blanchester worked the ball down the pitch effortlessly and took over 22 shots on the night. This victory improves Blanchester to 6-4 on the season and 4-3 in league play. -Coach Ballinger

The Wildcats got off to a very fast start scoring four goals in the opening minutes of the match and kept the momentum going with a halftime score of 7-0. They scored five more in the second half and only allowed Leesburg to net a single goal on the the evening. Overall there were 14 different Wildcats with shot attempts on goal. Scoring for Blanchester was Nevan Coyle (5), Topher Farrow (2), Noah Armocida, Brant Bandow, Nicholas Lansing (career first), Cameron Gibson, and Tanner Kellermann. The Blanchester Wildcats won their home opener against the Clinton Massie Falcons Thursday evening, 5-2. Despite giving up two goals, the Wildcats kept the majority of possession throughout the match. Scoring early for Blanchester was Hunter Miller and Topher Farrow with assists from Noah Armocida and Nevan Coyle. After the half Coyle netted two goals of his own before Massie put one in after being awarded a penalty kick for a foul in the box. Their second was due to a misstep by Keeper Jake Fischer who otherwise was a huge presence in the back when needed. Fischer put up 4 saves on the night. Blanchester's last goal came off a throw in from Brant Bandow to freshman Colton Wilson who had just subbed in before the ball was thrown, earning his first Varsity score. After an early goal against the Wildcats, they stood their ground and held off the tigers attack until the last few minutes of the half. During the second half Bethel's accuracy improved and they added three more. Blanchester keeper Jake Fischer had an impressive 19 saves and avoided a penalty kick against him. Blanchester had the first strike with a throw in from Brant Bandow to Topher Farrow who headed it to Cameron Gibson who put in with a header of his own. They went to half down 2-1 and gave up two more in the second with a final of 4-1, Georgetown. The Wildcats had a slew of offensive attacks but couldn't finish. - Coach Ballinger

The Wildcats dominated possession with many opportunities to score but also allowed the Cardinals to sneak in a couple counterattacks with a halftime score of 3-2 Blanchester. After the half, Blanchester kept the pressure on and finished off the Cardinals with an 8-3 victory. senior Nevan Coyle eluded the Cardinal defense with tremendous ball control. Scoring for the Wildcats was Coyle (4), senior Topher Farrow, junior Hunter Miller, and freshman Carter Stevens (2). Assists were awarded to Coyle (2), Farrow (5), and sophomore Cameron Gibson.
