Doubles
Erin Wilson, Lilly Tedrick d. Jordan Troxell, Liz Kilgore 6-1, 6-3
Alexis Vestal, Korie White d. Jasmen Fowler, Lupe Rodriguez 6-0, 6-0
Comments: I'm so proud of this team to be able to rebound from such a deep disappointment last week at CNE. We had a great weekend at coaches classic and we followed it up by taking care of business. These girls have put in a lot of hard work and deserve to celebrate the accomplishment. Six league titles is not easy. We've always got the target on our back but we wouldn't want it any other way. Now it's up to the underclassmen to put in the hard work necessary to make it seven straight. - Coach Sexton

Alexis Vestal, Korie White (B) d. Emilee Caudill, Amber Rossman 6-1, 6-3
Comments: First off, congratulations to CNE. They played great tennis and absolutely deserved to win the match.
The first singles match was terrific tennis. Brooke was down 1-4, two breaks of serve in the third. Got it back to 5-5. I've coached a lot of great players over the years. I've never coached someone with the mental toughness and intestinal fortitude as her. She absolutely willed herself back into that third set.
First doubles gave it their best effort today. Give credit to CNE for playing a great match there and at third singles to get the win. I thought Emily and second doubles really played some outstanding, aggressive tennis in their wins.
We can still earn a league share with a win over Bethel next week. That's our goal now. It would still be six in a row. Now we focus on the coaches classic this weekend and look to rebound.-Coach Sexton

Comments: Overall we played much better at the bottom of our lineup tonight. With Felicity putting Stamper (1st singles) at first doubles, this was a chance for Erin and Lilly to get back to playing good tennis. They played with aggression and confidence which is how they have to play. I also thought Alexis and Korie played relaxed and confident and it showed in the way they played. -Coach Sexton

Comments: This was exactly what the doctor ordered. We've had late nights, hot days, girls sick and everything else. This was a chance to move some people around and give some people a well-deserved day off. It was great to see Erin and Lilly step into singles play and not miss a beat. They both played great tennis. Also was great for the freshman to get another win. It's a shame they couldn't have finished, because they were playing so well.
We've got another long week ahead with four matches including a league match on Thursday. The girls had a good week going 3-0 and we know Western Brown will be looking for revenge Monday so we'll need to be ready. -Coach Sexton

Grace King, Kayla Allen won 6-4
Comments: I knew this was going to be another tough match. We match up pretty closely at several positions. Brooke played one of her best matches of the season. She was frustrated about how Tuesday's match ended, and really came out and played aggressively against Boyd and it paid off. I'm so proud of Emily pulling out her win. She had a tough second set, but really got back to her game in the third and finished strong. The first doubles match was quite the battle. That was two very good first doubles teams and it came down to a handful of points. I'm proud of how Erin and Lilly were able to close it out when they got the final break at 4-4 of the third.
Second doubles played a solid match against a good second doubles team. It was another match that came down to a few big points, and I thought Alexis and Korie played some of their best tennis of the year. -Coach Sexton

Comments: This was our last match against Amelia. They have been great friends and rivals of our since they joined the SBC. We're going to miss them, although we hope to start a new non-league rivalry with West Clermont next year.
I was so proud of Megan for being able to pull out that match that ended in fading daylight around 8:15 p.m. She had a tough second set, but really dug deep in hot conditions to pull out the win.
Brooke and Molly played an outstanding match. I don't think there were many free points for either player during the entire match, and I'd be surprised if there were any games that didn't go to multiple deuces. They battled at the peak of the hot weather and grinded it out for three hours. They played a fantastic match. -Coach Sexton

Krista Reid and Taylor Cardarelli are an outstanding first and second singles combination, and their first doubles is really, really good. I thought we played well up and down the lineup. In the end, New Richmond was just too good.
I was proud of Megan pulling out the win at third singles. She has done such a terrific job for us at third singles this year, and it was great seeing her tough out the win. I also thought our first doubles raised their level in the match. They played probably their best overall match of the year, and I think they know there is still room to improve as the season goes on, which is encouraging. -coach Sexton

Comments: After two late nights in a row it was good to take care of business and get home at a reasonable hour. We were a little banged up after a late night last night. Brooke took care of business quickly. She was very aggressive and was off in probably 30 minutes.
Emily, Megan and first doubles all played solid matches after a lot of tennis the last couple days. We were able to give our two freshman, Grace and Kayla, a chance to get their first varsity match. I'm so proud of how well they played, especially considering how nervous they were to start. To see them get their first varsity win was pretty special. Our girls that haven't seen the varsity lineup this year all work hard and will be important parts of our program in the future. -Coach Sexton
