4/25/16 - Baseball vs Bethel Tate Won 4-3 Record: 10-4 (6-2) Alec Richardson 3-3, 2B, 3B, 2 RBI Travis Nelson 3-3, 3B, 2 RBI
What a great team victory. That was the best pitcher we've faced all season. He threw hard and had a late moving slider that was tough to recognize. I was glad we kept our composure after Bethel went up 2-0. It would have been easy to roll over for them but we battled and found a way to win. That's what good teams do. I am so proud of Max Davidson. He has really turned into a reliever that I can count on to bring in during a jam. He pitched a strong 2 2/3 tonight.
Alec sure is having a great season. Tonight he carried us at the plate (a homer from the cycle) and got the save. Somehow after pitching a complete gameSaturday he said he was good to close it out. He looked as sharp as usual. Retired the side with two strikeouts. -Coach Lawson
4/20/16 - Varsity baseball vs. CNE won 4-2 Away at Midland Field - Reds Showcase Game 8-3 (6-1)
Travis Nelson 2-4 with game tying RBI in fifth Dylan Fawley go ahead RBI single in 6th
What a great team win. I am so proud this group showed tonight they can handle adversity in a tight situation. Even though CNE jumped out on top, we kept our composure and fought back. Good teams find a way to win. We have a lot of players clumped together in ability so we rarely have with the same lineup twice. Everyone on this team respects that and knows there role. The only reason we have made it to this point in the season with this much success is from playing selfless baseball. They show up everyday willing to play for the guy standing next to them. -Coach Lawson
4/18/16 - Varsity Baseball vs Felicity Won 12-0 7-3 (5-1)
Blake really settled in after the first. We spoke to him about making a minor adjustment to stay on top of the ball and throw down hill in between innings. When he did that he had really good stuff.
4/14/16 - Varsity Baseball vs Wilmington Won 10-5 5-3 (4-1)
It felt great to get outside again and play a ball game. It's been 8 days since we played last. Alec looked real sharp early on. He had great bite on his curveball and he was getting ahead of hitters. His last couple of innings he ended up grinding out. He lost his release point and hit a couple guys. No way I was taking him out though. He is the best competitor I got, so I knew he was going to fight to get out of those jams.
I am very proud of the way we swung the bats today. We've been struggling knocking runs in but that wasn't the case today. We had timely hitting and two out hits. Anytime you can put up 10 against a team like Wilmington you know you are doing something right. -Coach Lawson
4/6/16 - Baseball vs Georgetown Away Won 12-0 4-3 (4-1)
We really needed this game to bounce back and get things on track. Dustin Howard (freshman) really stepped up for us on the mound. He gave us a complete game which we really needed. We only had one guy available outside of him. He only allowed one hit and it came in the first. He seemed to settle in quick. He did exactly what we've been looking for in getting ahead of hitters. Good things happen when you get strike one.
Defensively we played a very clean game. We had no errors and stayed mentally sharp the entire time. Defense is something that has been hurting us. We need to build off this performance next time we take the field.
4/4/16 - Baseball vs. Bethel Tate Lost 7-6 3-2 (3-1)
Bethel came out and played a solid ball game. They were pitching ahead, making the plays defensively and had timely hitting. We on the other hand did not. Our defense has to get better quick. We don't have pitchers with swing and miss stuff. We have a staff that pitches to contact and I expect our defense to make the routine plays behind them. Tonight we had three errors and eight walks. Those numbers won't beat anybody.
We also need someone to step up and get a base hit with runners on. We had 14 stolen bases today. With that number we should be able to generate more than six runs.
Jared Monhollen 2-4, 2 RBI Max Davidson 1-3, RBI

4/2/16 - Baseball vs Williamsburg Won 9-8 3-1 (3-0) Next game Monday at Bethel Tate
We had a couple errors early that allowed Williamsburg to jump out to a 4-0 lead. We finally got something going in the fourth. We had bases loaded with one out when Dylan Fawley connected on a 3 RBI 2B in the right center field gap. We came back and added two more in the fifth on a clutch two out 2 RBI double by Robert Rasuch.
Going into the sixth I felt like we were in total control of the game. They had 8-9 hitters leading off the inning and we still had our ace going. We were trying to get one more out of Alec, and would have if we didn't commit back to back errors when they turned it over he would have got through six strong. Instead we had to hand the ball off to our bullpen with bases loaded and the three hole up. They laced back to back 2 RBI base hits to the outfield. We got ahead and were throwing strikes, but left the ball elevated for the hitters to do something with it. We ended up getting out of the jam yielding four runs and losing the lead.
We threatened in the bottom half but couldn't get anyone to cross the plate.
With the score still 8-7 Burg going into the seventh we knew we had to play for one run. The first pitch of the inning hit Max Davidson. The next batter Daulton Stevens hit a single to left field. Max was only able to move up to second. Robert Rausch hit a ground ball to short that the short stop bobbled and everyone was safe. The next pitch hit Travis Nelson to tie the ball game. With one out I called upon sophomore Jack Davidson. Jack bats fourth for the JV and the infield was playing in. We were at a spot down in our order so I thought he would give us the best chance to get the ball to the outfield. He did just that on the second pitch. He hit it over the centerfielder's head to plate Daulton Stevens the winning run.
This was a great team win tonight. I used 14 players through out the game. Everyone I called upon did a fabulous job of doing what was asked of them.
Fawley and Rausch had a couple of huge hits for us today in clutch situations. Alec had a quick first and fifth inning, outside of that he grinded his way to the sixth. He did a great job of keeping his composure when he struggled. He never quit found his release point in the middle innings.
Alec Richardson 2-3, 2B Jared Mpnhollen RBI 1B Robert Rausch 2 RBI 3B Travis Nelson 2 RBI Dylan Fawley 3 RBI 2B Jack Davidson game winning single with bases loaded
3/30/16 - Baseball vs CNE Won 12-2 (5 innings) 2-1 (2-0)
We needed a big performance from Jared tonight on the mound and we got just that. He had command of all his pitches and was able to get ahead. He really kept CNE off balance being able to throw his pitches in any count. I hope this gives Jared confidence that his stuff is good enough to pitch at this level. He is tough to hit when he can locate.
Our hitting carried us tonight. Everybody hit from top to bottom. We had big two run home runs from Travis, Dylan and Alec that really set the tone for us. -Coach Lawson

Alec Richardson 2-3, RBI Jared Monhollen 2-4, 2 RBI Max Davidson 2-4, 2B
We played real good fundamental baseball for 4 innings then lost our focus. We jumped out on top 3-0 before having 3 costly errors in the fifth that led to 4 unearned runs. Our guys did a nice job of not quitting and responding with 2 runs in the sixth to tie it up. We very easily could have rolled over. In the seventh we ran a daylight pickoff play at second and missed a very catchable throw from the pitcher (E4) and allowed the runner to move up 90 feet from scoring. The next pitch was a sacrifice fly making the game 6-5. We did threaten in the seventh getting first and third with 2 outs but grounded out to the shortstop to end the game. -Coach Lawson
