5/11/15 - Varsity Softball Wins 1st round of sectionals
We won 9-3.  Overall, this was one of the better games we have played all year, especially defensively.  Brooke Jones had a great game at 2nd base, making several plays that took away hits. Offensively, we had 13 hits, led by Savanna Brown and Savana Greene who each had 3 hits.  Maddie Curless, Cierra White, and Abby Wilson each had 2 hits. On the mound, Maddie Curless scattered 7 hits over 7 innings and held Fenwick scoreless in 6 out of 7 innings.
We took a 3-0 lead in the 3rd, Fenwick then tied the game in the 4th.  We came right back and took the lead after scoring 1 in the 5th.  We then broke the game open by when we scored 5 in the 6th.

5/7/15 - Varsity Softball
We lost 5-1.  We once again gave a great effort against an outstanding team who won the National Division League championship this season.  What I liked about tonight's effort was how we were able to minimize our mistakes and end some serious scoring threats from Williamsburg.  Williamsburg loaded the bases with no outs in the first and we were able to keep them from scoring.  In the second inning, they had runners on second and third with only 1 out, and we once again did not allow any runs.

4/27/15 - Varsity Softball vs. Bethel Tate
We lost 7-6.  We were up 6-5 going into the bottom of the 7th.  Bethel's #4 hitter led of the inning with a solo home run to tie the game.  With 1 out, they had back to back singles followed by a walk to load the bases.  The winning run then scored on a fielder's choice.  Overall, this was probably the best game we have played in the last few weeks. Our defense was solid throughout the entire game, Maddie pitched a very good game and offensively we did a lot of things to put the ball in play and score runs. Savanna Brown led the way at the plate going 2-3 with 2 home-runs, 3 RBI and 2 runs scored.  Cierra White also had 2 hits.  Unfortunately, it just wasn't enough as we came up 1 run short. -Coach Grogg

4/21/15 - Softball
We lost 9-0.  We were only down 1-0 going into the bottom of the 6th, when Williamsburg scored 8 runs.  It wasn't that we played poorly in that inning, they just hit the ball.  Offensively, we had a tough night at the plate as we faced arguably the best pitcher we have seen so far this year. -Coach Grogg

4/15/15 - Varsity Softball
We won 17-7 in 6 innings.  After losing four straight, it was nice to get back in the win column.  I was really happy with how the girls responded tonight.  We were up 5-2 going into the bottom of the 4th and Batavia scored 5 runs to take a 7-5 lead.  Instead of getting down, we came right back and scored 4 in the 5th to retake the lead.  We then scored 8 in the 6th and closed out the game with 3 straight outs in the bottom of the inning.  Savanna Brown led the way offensively going 4-5, with a home run, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored.  Jay Dalton was 3-3 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored, and Maddie Curless was 3-3, with a double, 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Big Moment - 1st Home Run!

4/13/15 - Varsity Softball
We lost 7-5.  We once again battled for all seven innings, just came up short.  We were down 7-4 going into the 7th and loaded the bases with no one out, unfortunately, we were only able to score one run.  We had the tying runs on 2nd and 3rd with only 1 out though.  Savanna Brown led the way offensively, going 3-4 and scoring 4 of our 5 runs. Cierra White had two hits, including a double and an RBI.  Jay Dalton had 1 hit and 4 RBIs and Abby Wilson and Maddie Curless each had a hit.  Defensively, we again made some nice plays, but we were inconsistent and gave them some extra outs, which hurt us, as 4 of their 7 runs were unearned. - Coach Grogg

We won 10-8. We once again battled  for all 7 innings. I was real pleased with our offensive effort, as we managed to score runs in a variety of ways and did a nice job of putting pressure on their defense. Defensively, we made several good plays, but still have to get better at not giving teams extra outs. - Coach Grogg

We won 4-3.  We scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th to take the lead and held them in the 7th to get the win.  Cierra White led of the 6th and was hit by a pitch.  Maddie Curless followed with a single.  Brooke Jones then put down a sacrifice bunt that the catcher fielded and attempted to throw out the runner going to 2nd.  Instead, the throw went into center field, two runs scored and Brooke ended up on 3rd.  Brooke then scored the go ahead on Savana Greene's ground out to shortstop. Defensively, we played better, but we still have work to do.  Offensively, we only had 6 hits, but they were timely.  I was extremely proud of how we battled for the entire game and put ourselves in a position to get the win. - Coach Grogg

won 14-6.  I was real pleased with the way we bounced back after our performance Tuesday at Hillsboro.  But, we still have work to do defensively, as we continue to give teams extra outs. Offensively, we pounded out 12 hits tonight and every time we gave up the lead, we came back in our half of the inning and got the lead back.  Cierra White, led the way going 2-3, with a 3 run home run and 4 RBI.
