5/5/15 - Tennis NATIONAL DIVISION CHAMPIONS
Blanchester secured the league championship today of the national division of the SBAAC with a 3-2 victory over Bethel Tate. Trey Lynch lost to Joe Smith 0-6, 6-2. 2-6. Reilly Hopkins defeated Josh Royer 6-1, 6-0. Sean McCarty lost to Jacob Tribish 1-6, 2-6. Zane Bolin and Chase Denham defeated Adam Shinkle and Kyle Clements 6-0, 7-5. Zach Whitt and Matt Burden defeated Ryan Beyer and Andrew Woudenberg 6-2, 6-0. Everyone was motivated to play well today for the league championship and Reilly Hopkins dominated his opponent that beat him yesterday to lead the charge. That victory was followed by 2nd doubles with Matt Burden stepped into the starting lineup to secure the victory. First doubles clinched the league championship with a come from behind victory in the second set and finished the season undefeated in the league and 12-2 overall for the year. Blanchester Tennis defeated Clermont Northeastern twice today 5-0. We made up an earlier match that was postponed due to rain. Trey Lynch defeated Seth Chamber 6-0, 6-1, Reilly Hopkins defeated Terra werring 6-0, 6-0, Sean McCarty defeated kyle Young 6-0, 6-0. Chase Denham and Zane Bolin defeated Hunter Doughman and Hunter McQuitty 6-0, 6-0, and Zach Whitt and Brady Wilson defeated Luke Shaw and Stephanie Peterson 6-0, 6-0. In the second match Trey Lynch defeated Hunter Doughman 6-0, 6-0, Reilly Hopkins defeated Hunter Mcquitty 6-0, 6-0. Sean Mccarty defeated Kyle Young 6-0, 6-0, Zane Bolin and Chase Denham defeated Terra Werring and Seth Chambers 6-0, 6-2 Brady Wilson and Zach Whitt defeated Hannah Bowles and Zoe Beebe 6-0, 6-0, Now 9-3 on the season and 4-0 in the league, heading to Hillsboro on Thursday.

Blan tennis defeated Norwood 5-0 today. Trey Lynch defeated David Highland 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.This was a great victory for Trey, his opponent was a very good player. As always, coming back from a first set loss shows great resolve. Reilly Hopkins defeated Kevin English 6-0,6-0, Sean McCarty defeated Dallas Lamping 6-0, 6-0, Zane Bolin and Chase Denham defeated Cory Rooker and Christian Peace 6-1, 6-2, Due to time constraints the second doubles match was limited to a pro set and Zach Whitt and Brady Wilson defeated Louis Arriaza and Christian Edwards 8-3. Blanchester defeated Felicity Franklin today 3-2. Trey Lynch lost to Devin Denune 1-6, 5-7, Reilly Hopkins defeated Austin May 6-1, 6-3, Sean McCarty lost to Dylan Foster 2-6, 5-7, Chase Denham and Zane Bolin defeated Travis Waters and Jared Boeckman 6-0, 6-0, and Zach Whitt and Brady Wilson won due to forfeit. Now 7-3 overall and 2-0 in the league. -Coach Shepard 
4/18/15 - Tennis
Blanchester tennis did a fantastic job at the Wilmington invitational. Even though we placed 8th, we were the only division II school represented. All other schools were Division I. We added to new additions to the team. At number one singles, Matt Burden played his first high schools matches against some of the toughest competition in the area. He did a great job, he is a natural talent and will play a big part in our team in the future. Dade Coyle also did an extraordinarily awesome job at number 2 singles. We forfeited third singles. 2nd doubles was also competitive but the Cinderella team of the tournament was the first doubles duo of Chase Denham and Trey lynch. They played great,They lost the first match to Wilmington's #1 doubles team before upsetting the number one doubles teams from Lebanon and Middletown to secure a fifth place finish in the 1st doubles bracket. We won first game 3-2 in 8 innings over Goshen. We trailed 2-1 going into the bottom of the 8th. Maddie Curless got a 2 out single and Lindsay Wirick came in as a courtesy runner. Savanna Brown hit a ball down the right field line, scoring Wirick. In an attempt to throw out Wirick, the ball was thrown over the catcher's head. Savanna, who was running hard out of the box, never broke stride when she was coming to third and continued on to the plate and scored the winning run on the overthrow. We battled the whole game. Even though we weren't hitting as well as we would have liked, we continued to play defense to keep them from scoring. Maddie pitched a great game, scattering 5 hits over 8 innings. 4/20/15 - Tennis
Blan tennis picked up a good victory against Batavia today 3-2. Reilly Hopkins proved to be the decisive game changer solidifying the team victory with his first ever win at number one singles. He defeated an experienced and accomplished player in Mark Knanaur 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. Anytime you win a three set match to secure the victory its a great accomplishment. Sean McCarty lost to Joe Sickles 0-6, 1-6. Dakota Penquite lost to Andrew Truske 2-6, 3-6. Chase Denham and Trey Lynch defeated Luke Hacker and Luke Herron 6-0, 6-2. Brady Wilson and Zach Whitt defeated Jarod Herron and Cody Pavlin 7-6(7-3)6-1. Blanchester tennis defeated East Clinton 3-2. Trey Lynch lost to Paul Luttrell 2-6, 2-6, Reilly Hopkins lost to Luke Meares 4-6, 6-7(2-7), Sean McCarty won due to forfeit. Chase Denham and Zane Bolin defeated Jake Olds and Alex Pence 6-0, 6-0, Brady Wilson and Zach Whitt defeated Nate Morgan and Blake Bronson 6-0, 6-0. Very good matches at singles, happy to pick up the win, now 3-3 on the season heading to Amelia Thursday and Wilmington Saturday for the invitational tournament. - Coach Shepard 4/14/15 - Tennis
We lost tonight to New Richmond's B team 2-3. Trey Lynch lost to Carter Light 4-6, 6-4, 4-6. Reilly Hopkins defeated Luke Jaehnen 7-5, 6-2. Sean McCarty defeated Noah Jeheu 6-3(we stopped after one set due to time) Chase Denham and Zane Bolin lost to Chase Heflin and Alex Grooms 3-6, 6-3, 5-7. Dylan Houston and Zach Whitt lost to Tim Hammer and Cam Coulter 2-6, 1-6. Now 2-3 on the season, still 1-0 in the league, East Clinton coming down Wednesday and heading to Amelia on thursday. - Coach Shepard

Blan lost today 5-0 at Summitt Country Day. Trey Lynch lost to calvin spanbauer 6-0, 6-2, Reilly Hopkins lost to Patrick Casanas 6-0, 6-1. Sean McCarty lost to Robert Kerr 0-6, 0-6. Chase Denham and Zane Bolin lost to Philip McHugh and Jared Hochwalt 0-6, 2-6. Brady Wilson and Zach Whitt lost to Jamie Mckeever and Ryan Schneder 2-6, 4-6. Great to play some tennis tonight in good weather against a great team. Hopefully the match against a great team will improve our play.Now 2-2 on the season and 1-0 in the league. - Coach Shepard 
4/8/15 - Boys Tennis
Blanchester tennis picked up an impressive win today against Goshen at home 3-2. It is an important victory because over the years we have split with them and they are very well coached with Pete Patterson at the helm. Trey Lynch lost to Malachi Gierzak 2-6, 2-6. Trey has played very well this year against very stiff competition. He continues to improve every match due to the level of his competition. Reilly Hopkins remains undefeated at singles defeating a tough opponent in James Price 6-0, 6-2. Sean McCarty lost to Andy Duncan 4-6, 0-6. Chase Denham and Zane Bolin remain undefeated on the season beating Alec hilliard and Alex Wells 6-1, 6-0. They continue to improve as they dominate and overpower the competition. Brady Wilson and Zach Whitt defeated Skyler Rice and Andrew Pogue 6-0, 6-0. Its always great to pick up the team victory secured by the second doubles team. Blan boys tennis picked up its first victory of the season tonight defeating Felicity 3-2. Reilly Hopkins played dominating tennis defeating Chris Whitt 6-0, 6-0. Chase Denham and Zane Bolin remain undefeated on the year winning easily against another really good team of Austin May and Dylan Foster. this time they not only prolonged points with brilliant athleticism but shortened many points with winners down the ally. The second doubles duo of Sean mcCarty and Brady Wilson solidified the victory with consistent play after a shaky start defeating Jared Beckham and Travis Waters 6-3, 6-0. Everyonetonight played solid tennis, Now 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in the league. - Coach Shepard 3/30/15 - Boys Tennis
Blan lost today 1-4 against New Richmond. Trey Lynch lost to Angus Mathews 2-6, 2-6. Sean McCarty lost to joel Bird 0-6, 1-6. Dakota Penquite lost to Alex Grooms 2-6, 1-6. Chase Denham and Zane Bolin defeated Cody Kirshner and Carter Light 4-6, 7-6(7-5), 6-2. Brady Wilson and Reilly Hopkins lost to daniel weiskitfel and chase heflin 3-6, 4-6. It was great to get rookie sophmore Dakota Penquite some playing time. He is an awesome athlete who will evolve into a great player as the season progresses. obviously chase and zane were the match of the day overcoming a tough first set loss and then winning a tight second set and decisively winning the third set for our lone win. It was a great challenge for them defeating a really great team so hopefully they will be able to build on this victory. Brady Wilson at second doubles looked great in his first match and reilly hopkins has improved tremendously since last year. They also lost to a really good team. so all in all it was a great day. very pleased with how we played. now 0-1 on the season and going to felicity on tues and c and e at home thursday. - Coach Shepard |
