'Cats make road kill of Warriors 44-30
Blanchester rushes for 608 yards on 74 attempts
Behind an overpowering performance by the Blanchester offensive line, the King of the Road Trophy will remain in the BHS trophy case.
The Wildcats made road kill of the Goshen Warriors Friday night in a 44-30 win at a bone-chilling Barbour Memorial Field.
The offensive line of Zach Whitt, Conan Nicely, Dylan Huston, Trenton Porterfield, Uriel Garcia, Chase Denham and Matt Burden simply manhandled the Warriors front seven.
Blanchester ran for 608 yards on 74 rushing attempts, both marks believed to be school records. The 608 yards is tied for ninth in state history for a single game team rushing total.
A pair of Wildcats - Seth Runyon and Dakota Gambrell - eclipsed the 200-yard mark on the ground. Runyon went for 247 yards and five touchdowns on 26 attempts while Gambrell, after missing several games, returned to the line and gained 242 yards on 30 rushes.
