The Wildcats traveled to Felicity Thursday evening to face the Cardinals for the second time this season. With only three minutes remaining in the first half the Cats came to life and scored two goals before time ran out. The first an attempted bicycle kick from Logan Swinderman that deflected off a defender to Dade Coyle who finished the play. The second almost immediately following with a run from Kyle Speakman who carried the ball down the line and passed it off to Swinderman for a one-touch into the back of the net. The cardinals added pressure getting one of their own in the second half but The Wildcats held their composure and emerged victorious. Blanchester improved their conference record to 5-1-1.

The Blanchester Wildcats hosted the Georgetown G-Men Monday evening for a second showing between the teams this season. Blanchester struck first early with a goal off a corner kick scored by Freshman Dakota Penquite, assisted by Dade Coyle. During the second half, Penquite threaded the ball down the middle to captain Eric Hinkle putting them up by two but Georgetown answered back with two of their own. As the seconds ticked off the clock Blanchester had one last opportunity to score but couldn't find the back of the net. The match ended in a 2-2 tie leaving the Wildcats with a 3-2-1 record. BLANCHESTER - Dade Coyle's goal lifted Blanchester to a 3-2 win Thursday over Felicity in Southern Buckeye Conference boys soccer action at Barbour Memorial Field. Blanchester held a 2-0 lead but Felicity rallied to tie the match at 2-2 with less than 10 minutes to play. But Coyle found the back of the net off a free kick just outside the 18-yard box, BHS coach Troy Ballinger said. Blanchester is 3-0 and atop the leaderboard alongside Batavia in the SBC standings. OWENSVILLE - The Blanchester boys soccer team defeated Clermont Northeastern 5-0 Tuesday in a Southern Buckeye Conference mathup at CNE.
The Wildcats, now 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the SBC, "dominated" the match with "tactical passing" and proved they could find the back of the net," coach Troy Ballinger said. Wesley Georges led the defense by making eight saves in goal for BHS. Kyle Speakman scored two goals. GEORGETOWN - The Blanchester boys soccer team opened its season Thursday with a 2-1 win over Georgetown in Southern Buckeye Conference action at GHS.
Eric Hinkle, junior captain, scored first with a "perfectly-timed chip over the keeper," coach Troy Ballinger said, with an assist to Dade Coyle. Georgetown tied the match later in the first half. The Wildcats tallied the game-winner with four minutes remaining in the match when senior captain Kyle Speakman scored with an assist from Hinkle. Ballinger said goalkeeper Wesley Georges "made some tremendous save and kept great positioning to hold the G-Men" to just one goal. |
