JV Ladycats hosted Reading and came out on top with a 51-33 win.
This was a great team win we had 10 players put points on the board and it was fun to watch. The girls are clicking together and it’s fun to watch them. They left it all on the floor tonight. We were making great passes and getting good looks. Defensively we ran two different presses and 2 different half court sets throughout the game and forced turnovers that lead into easy baskets.
It’s nice when I can sub and we can Execute on both ends of the floor.

Defensively, I thought we executed our plan well. CNE was able to extend the lead enough for us to have to come out of what we were running by stalling starting late in the 3rd quarter. I'm proud of our defensive effort.
Offensively, Blanchester was only 8-39 from the field.
It's really hard to win games when you shoot around 20%. We've been working hard in practice to improve our offensive efficiency. Itll come if girls keep putting the time in.

Blanchester dropped a league game Thursday night at Felicity 62-41. Felicity outscored Blanchester 28-7 in the opening frame. Blanchester was tagged for 11 fouls in the first quarter and Felicity shot 16 first quarter free throws.
We had 4 girls with 2 fouls in the first quarter. Two of those girls had their fouls in the first 2 minutes of the game. It's hard to compete when you're sending the other team to the line every possession.
Blanchester never let down and fought hard to try to work back into the game but never got closer than 15.
Blanchester was led in scoring by Olivia Potts with 15 points. -Coach Pyle
Blanchester JV girls traveled to felicity Thursday night to get a 38-18 win.
We are 5-7 on the year but I told the girls last night. Yes I wish we had a better record, but I am proud of how they are improving throughout the season and it starts at practice. They work hard and are coachable.
We have had some illnesses this past week so we had a couple girls out and a couple with limited playing time last night. I started two girls that hadn’t started this year and a few girls came off the bench that haven’t got a lot of playing Time this year and they played extremely well.

12/16/19 - HS girls basketball @ Bethel Tate
Blanchester lost to Bethel Tate 71-32 Monday night in SBAAC girls basketball action.
Blanchester was led in points by Olivia Potts with 8 and Holly Scott with 7. Hailey Muvihill put in 5 and added 6 rebounds all in the fourth quarter. Bethel Tate had 9 girls score led by Madison Burton and Grace White each with 12.
Bethel Tate has such a balanced attack. They play smart and are tough to guard because they play so much inside out. When they hit shots, they are tough to defend.
We need to keep putting our best foot forward and working to improve. We have a lot of varsity minutes going to girls who have very little varsity experience. I'm proud of girls being put into difficult situations and working hard to overcome challenges. Those challenges will make us better in the long run. -Coach Pyle

I keep telling the girls that the only team that's beating us right now is our own. We committed 20 first half turnovers. It just can't happen and us expect to win games.
If we can take care of the ball, we can compete with a lot of teams but when we get careless, it's game over.
Blanchester will look to rebound Thursday night at home against Felicity. -Coach Pyle

Nine players scored for Blanchester in their 52-31 season opening game at Middletown Christian Friday night. Blanchester (1-0) opened the game on an 8-0 but allowed the Eagles to hang around and go into halftime only down two, 24-22.
I told the girls at halftime that we had to play within ourselves. We needed to carry over all of the things we have worked on in practice and they did a great job responding.
Blanchester outscored Middletown Christian 20-2 in the 3rd quarter and broke open the game.
I was very proud of the way we responded coming out of halftime. The girls did a phenomenal job adjusting and playing within themselves. The game is a lot easier when you make the easy pass and allow things to come to you instead of forcing.
The Ladycats had 14 fouls in the first half of the game but committed no fouls in the second half.
We let them hang around by just committing silly fouls and sometimes getting outside of ourselves trying to make too much happen. Credit goes to the girls to make the adjustments and not foul in the second half.
Blanchester was led by Holly Scott who had 17 points, 6 steals and 4 assists. Lana Roy had 10 points, 7 steals and 6 assists. Lilly Brown played a really good game underneath for Blanchester chipping in 4 points and 8 rebounds. - Coach Pyle

J.V girls basketball opened up the season with a 39-8 win over Middletown Christian. I’m pleased with the girls effort on both ends of the floor, but
Especially their defense and rebounding. We were able to hold them to 8 points all coming in the first half. Played a well 1-3-1 defense and forced them to make bad decisions that led to missed shots and turnovers and we got out in transition and took advantage of there mistakes.
I’m proud of all the girls.
Leading in scoring was Hailey Mulvihill with 12, followed by Zoie Stanforth with 6, Grace Irwin, Madi Tipton, Ainsley Whitaker, and Olivia Potts all had 4, Emma Winemiller, and Sarah Pell both had 2, and Kaidyn Hamm finished with 1
