Schirmer and Hopkins both qualified to wrestling in the second day of Districts. Hopkins injury forced him from competing in the "placement" match.

Young wrestlers place 5 individuals in the SBAAC Invitational. Hopkins 2nd Schirmer 4th Torres 4th

Cade Huston placed 5th at Western Brown Hammer and Anvil Invitiational. Austin Walker takes 1st and Ramiro Torres 3rd in the JV tournament. 1/4/16 HS wrestling
The Blanchester wrestling team finished 2-3 Saturday at the Mechanicsburg Duals tournament. Tyler Hartness was 4-1, including forfeits, at 106 pounds for the Wildcats. Clayton Schirmer, Hayden Tedrick, Steven Latchford, Austin Walker and Cade Huston all won three matches, including forfeits. “The kids wrestled hard this weekend and I was impressed by the heart of some of the young kids on the team,” said BHS coach Scott Nicely. “This is a building year unfortunately, but the future looks bright for some of our youngsters.” Blanchester was fourth overall in the tournament. -Coach Nicely 
12/19/15 - HS Wrestling
Young wrestlers take 6th at Blanchester Duals. Filling just 9 weight classes, the Wildcats were 2-3-2 in the tournament, defeating a combined McNicholas/Madeira team (48-20) and Amelia (42-39), losing to Massie, New Richmond (45-24), and Reading (40-39) and finishing in a tie with both Wyoming (36-36) and Little Miami (33-33).For Blanchester, Kyle Denier at 120 pounds and Cade Huston at 220 pounds were both unbeaten at 7-0. Going 6-1 for the Wildcats were Tyler Hartness of 113 and Brent Hopkins at 126. Ramiro Torres at 145 was 5-2 . |
