2/15/16 - MS bkb The 7th grade boys basketball team finished their season last night losing to the undefeated Mount Orab Broncos 48 to 30. The 7th grade wildcats finished with a record of 12-6. Leading the team was Brayden Sipple with 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals. Bryce Highlander, Hunter Hartmann, Brian Miller, Carter Stevens and Brody Rice all added 2 points each. Rice also pulled down 3 rebounds, while Kyle Hopkins has 4 boards and 2 steals. Carter Stevens had 3 boards and an assist, and Nolan Gray added an assist. 2/13/16 - MS bkb The 7th grade boys basketball team advanced to the SBC North tournament finals Saturday by defeating CNE 47-32. Leading the wildcat attack was Brayden Sipple with another double-double including 31 points, 11 rebounds, 6 steals & 4 blocks. Also scoring for the cats were Bryce Highlander & Colton Wilson with 4 each, Logan Heitzman & Brody Rice with 3 each, and Hunter Hartmann with 2. Heitzman also had 5 rebounds, while Rice and Brian Miller had 4 rebounds a piece. Czaika also had 3 steals. The boys play in the championship game Monday evening at 5:00 @ Goshen Middle School against the undefeated Mt. Orab Broncos. -Coach Greve
2/11/16 - MS bkb The Blanchester seventh grade boys basketball team defeated Amelia 51-40 Thursday night in the tournament opener. The young Wildcats will face Clermont Northeastern 11:15 a.m. Saturday in the semifinal round in Goshen. Brayden Sipple led Blanchester with 33 points, nine rebounds, six steals, four assists and two blocked shots. Brody Rice scored 14 points and hauled in eight rebounds. Rice and Brian Miller had two assists each. Hunter Hartmann had four points and three rebounds. Hartmann, Bryce Highlander and Trenton Czaika had two steals each.-Coach Greve
The Blanchester 7th grade Ladycats ended their season Wednesday night in the first round of tournaments. The Ladycats lost to Mt. Orab, 28-18. The star player for tonight's game, both offensively and defensively, was Lana Roy. Roy had 7 points, 2 offensive rebounds, 3 defensive rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block. Casey Kingsland was the second leading scorer with 5 points, along with 1 offensive rebound, 1 defensive rebound, and 1 steal. Adding in 2 points each were Caili Baumann, Brinli Crosley, and Noelani Tangonan. Baumann also assisted the team with 2 offensive rebounds and 4 defensive rebounds. Crosley had 2 offensive rebounds, 3 defensive rebounds, and 1 block. Tangonan added 2 defensive rebounds as well. Maddie Wells had 5 offensive rebounds and 3 defensive rebounds while Becca Kratzer had 2 offensive rebounds and 1 defensive rebound. Maddie Pohlman also took one steal for Blan. Scoring for the Wildcats were Hunter Bare (9 points, 5 rebounds, 7 blocks), Jay Ashcraft (8 points), Brayden Sipple (4 points), Jasper Damewood (2 points) and Tanner Creager (1 point). The 7th grade boys basketball team defeated Goshen last night 43 to 27 to raise its record 9-5 on season. Leading the Wildcats, with a great second half, was Brayden Sipple with 21 points, 14 rebounds, 5 blocks, 3 assists and 2 steals. 2/1/16 - MS bkb The Blanchester 7th grade Ladycats lost an intense game to Mt. Orab Monday night at home, 22-23. Brinli Crosley was the player of the night for the wildcats, doing well both offensively and defensively. Crosley had 8 points, 6 offensive rebounds, 7 defensive rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block. Casey Kingsland also played well offensively with 6 points, 2 offensive rebounds, and 4 defensive rebounds. Maddie Pohlman had 4 points, 1 defensive rebound, and 1 steal. Caili Baumann had 2 points, 4 defensive rebounds, and 1 steal. Lana Roy and Maddie Wells each knocked in a free throw to bump up the wildcats. In addition, Roy had 1 offensive rebound, 1 defensive rebound, and 4 steals, while Wells had 4 offensive rebounds and 1 defensive rebound. Tanner Creager led the way filling every column in the stat sheet, with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Kaleb Goodin played a strong game, with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Also scoring for the Wildcats were Hunter Bare (8 points), Chantz Dalton (4 points), Cameron Skidmore (3 points), Jay Ashcraft (3 points) and Braden Roy (2 points). Leading the wildcats, with a monster game, was Brody Rice with a double-double, including 12 points and 14 rebounds. Leading scorers for Blanchester were Lana Roy and Casey Kingsland with 8 points each (Roy with 4 rebounds and 2 steals and Kingsland with 1 rebound and 1 steal). 1/14/16 - MS BKB OVERTIME WINNERS! The 7th grade boys basketball team won another game in overtime last night by defeating the Amelia Barons 36-33. Leading the wildcat attack was Brayden Sipple with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Brody Rice had 6 rebounds, and added 4 points, including the game tying basket, assisted by Sipple, with 5 seconds to go, sending the game into overtime. Rounding out the scoring with 2 points each were Bryce Highlander, Colton Wilson, Hunter Hartmann, Trenton Czaika and Brian Miller. Logan Heitzman also pulled down 5 rebounds. Brayden Sipple lead the team with 13 points, and collected a team high 5 rebounds and 8 blocks. Trenton Czaika added 5 points, Colton Wilson added 4, Bryce Highlander 2, Nolan Gray 2, and Matt Holland added a free throw. Sipple, Highlander, and Czaika all had 3 steals each. 12/16/15 - MSBKB The 8th grade boys basketball team broke a halftime tie with a 16-4 run to start the 3rd quarter and then held on to defeat Clermont Northeastern 47-43. Tanner Creager led the way with 18 points and 9 steals. Hunter Bare scored a season high 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Avin Whitaker played a solid all around game, with 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Kaleb Goodin scored 3 points and had 5 rebounds. Cameron Skidmore and Jay Ashcraft each scored a basket. Leading all scorers was Brayden Sipple with 24 points, Trenton Czaika tossed in 11 and Brody Rice added 2. Czaika also pulled down 8 rebounds will Kyle Hopkins had 7.
