Nine JV Ladycats score in the 33-10 beating of Stivers.
"Stivers was one of the few teams this year that could match our quickness and athleticism. That gave us problems in the first half. But, the girls came out in the third quarter and played extremely well. Jalena Ambrocia and Destiny Pence played really well in the fourth quarter." - Coach Carroll
Final record: 20-1. The girls far exceeded my expectations this year. Our offensive skills were limited, but we played so hard on defense that we were able to overcome that. They came to work every day in practice, and they got better. They were a joy to coach and I am very proud of what they accomplished.
"In all my years of coaching, I don't know that I have ever had a group of kids that, collectively, had more grit and determination than this group of girls." -Coach Carroll

Played a very, very good first half, both offensively and defensively. Balanced attack with 8 different players scoring. Early in the year we relied almost exclusively on a full-court press to generate offensive opportunities. In the second half of the season the girls have done a much better job executing the half-court offense so we have used the full court press very sparingly. -Coach Carroll

After forging a fourth quarter tie, the Blanchester girls basketball team fell in the end to West Union, 49-44, in a non-league at the BHS gym.

The Blanchester girls basketball team won its Southern Buckeye Conference crossover game against Norwood, 35-31, Saturday at NRHS.
Sarah Burton led the Ladycats with 14 points.
Blanchester finishes the regular season with a 4-18 record.
“We played one of our best defensive games of the year,” said coach Andy Hamm. “We were getting a lot of steals, rebounding the ball very well on both ends, we weren’t turning over and we were getting a lot of easy shots.”
In the second half, some of those missed first half shots started to fall for the Ladycats.
“I told them that if we kept it up we were bound to make a few more shots, and they were bound to miss a few,” said Hamm. “Fortunately we were able to make a couple of shots, but the game was still back and forth.”
Tristan Culberson had 8 points and Doyle finished with 4. Emma Farrow had 3 points. Hannah Wisniewski, Cierra White and Bella Cook had 2 points each.

Blanchester head coach Andy Hamm had simple message for his Wildcats after knocking off East Clinton 51-38 Wednesday for its second win of the year – “just enjoy it.”
“It’s been a while since we’ve gotten a chance to enjoy it,” Hamm said. “I thought they played hard. I thought they got after it. They’ve been getting better and better. They’re a very coachable group, I’m happy for them to get a win.”
Three Wildcats cracked double-figures. Hannah Wisniewski led the way with 16. Tristan Culberson and Emma Farrow followed with 12 and 11, respectively.
The Wildcats (2-10) jumped out to a 12-3 and never looked back, except for when East Clinton (1-13) went on a 6-0 run early in the second period to cut Blan’s lead to 18-15.
“We’ve talked lately about our defense being disruptive. I thought tonight they did a better job getting in passing lanes. We got some turnovers early,” Hamm said. “I also thought we rebounded the ball well.”
In the JV contest, Blan won 26-15. Kenzie Miller led the Wildcats with seven points.

Blanchester 51 Clermont NE 42 The Ladycats (1-2 overall, 1-1 in SBCN) were paced offensively by Sarah Burton (17 points) and Emma Farrow (13 points). But it was the defense that kept the Lady Rockets in check and led BHS to the win. “At halftime, they (CNE) only had 4 field goals,” said BHS coach Andy Hamm. “Everything they had came from thefree throw line. I didn’t think they had an answer for us defensively, we just kept bailing them out.” Burton struggled with fouls in the first half and eventually fouled out. But while she was in the game, she was virtually unstoppable. She hit 6 of 9 from the floor, grabbed 8 rebounds and had 3 steals. Farrow countered that with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Hamm said when Burton went to the bench in the first half with 2 fouls, several players filled the void and led BHS to victory. “Bella Cook, Cierra White, Tristan Culberson,” he said. “They really stepped up in the second quarter and then the rest of the game.” That trio combined for 17 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists. 11/29 HSGBKB
